Tanzania's
Finest Cashew
Products

Tanzania finest cashews, processed from source, as it should be.

Our Story

Our journey started in 2021, after operating a cashew auction warehouse and seeing firsthand how much of Tanzania’s cashew was leaving the country unprocessed. That experience shaped how we built Rahami. Today, we operate decentralized cashew processing facilities in Mtwara, Southern Tanzania, working closer to the source to improve how cashew moves through the supply chain. When processing happens closer to where cashew is grown, more value stays within those communities. Farmers earn more, less is lost along the way, and more jobs are created locally. Our buyers are importers, commodity traders, and distributors operating at scale. They've worked with enough suppliers to know that the gap between a supplier's promises and their actual delivery almost always traces back to how the supply chain is run, not how it's described. We built Rahami to keep more value in Tanzania through local processing, and to also improve how the supply chain is run so delivery matches expectation.

The Rahami Model

01. Start where quality begins
Since 2021

01. Start where quality begins

We believe that quality is shaped long before processing. We work at the point where it actually begins, closer to farms and closer to the decisions that affect outcomes.
01. Start where quality begins
Since 2021

02. Process closer to the source

We bring processing closer to where cashew is grown. This protects raw material quality, reduces post-harvest loss, allows us to reach farmers in areas centralized facilities often miss, and also allows more value to remain within local communities instead of being exported raw.

03. Structure the supply

03. Structure the supply

A reliable supply chain needs coordination, not just transactions. We source through defined farming groups operating under shared protocols. This creates predictability for farmers and consistency for buyers.
03. Structure the supply
Since 2022

04. Create jobs where it matters

Processing at source creates employment within the communities where cashews are grown. These roles are filled by local workers including women, youth, and smallholder farmers, building skills and income where they live.

06. Pay farmers fairly and faster

Structured sourcing shortens the chain between harvest and payment. Farmers receive better prices and receive them sooner, without passing through multiple intermediaries. Increased income is a direct outcome of how our model is built.

07. Make traceability practical
Since 2021

07. Make traceability practical

Every batch is linked to a sourcing farm and group, collection area, and intake record. Traceability supports better decisions for buyers managing compliance, and for us managing quality. It creates accountability across the system.

08. Keep value in Tanzania

Exporting raw cashew nuts exports value with them. Processing at source keeps that value in form jobs, income, and margin within Tanzania. This is how the industry should work. We are building it that way.

09. Farm for the long term

We support regenerative farming practices that improve soil health, reduce dependency on inputs, and strengthen resilience across seasons. Healthier farms produce better nuts, and better nuts produce better kernels.

10. Reduce climate impact

Processing closer to origin reduces the volume of raw cashew nuts transported long distances. Shorter supply chains, reduced waste, and better resource use lower the overall footprint of every kilogram we process.
